This program builds on and reinforces the efforts of the Department of State's NEA Higher Education Initiative, which aims to strengthen connections between U.S. and Middle East and North African (MENA) universities. Meetings, site visits, and activities will focus on the accreditation process, expansion of Fulbright program opportunities, recruitment strategies for American students to attend MENA institutions, potential university partnerships, intellectual freedom, and critical thinking. Participants will also examine how higher education institutions in the U.S. offer degrees that facilitate economic prosperity, encourage innovation, and collaborate with the private sector to develop the workforce.
