21st Century Changemakers: Disinformation and Election Security

On September 1st, the VCWA virtually hosted 19 participants from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Poland, and Ukraine. The delegation met with representatives from VTDigger and the Center for Media and Democracy (CCTV) to discuss the role of media and journalists in combating disinformation in the United States and abroad.


Agricultural Marketing Information Systems

From September 2nd - 7th, the VCWA virtually hosted 6 participants from India. The delegation met with representatives from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, Middlebury College, and University of Vermont (UVM) Agricultural Extension to discuss sustainable agricultural and university extension services.


Rule of Law and U.S. Judicial Systems

On September 8th, the VCWA virtually hosted 12 participants from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Eritrea, Guinea, Haiti, Liberia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and Tanzania. The delegation met with representatives from Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services, Burlington’s Community Justice Center, and Vermont Legal Aid to discuss crime victim protection and accessible legal services.


Transparency and Accountability in Government

From September 23rd - 29th, the VCWA virtually hosted 20 participants from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Namibia, Senegal, and South Africa. The delegation met with representatives from the Vermont Ethics Commission, Seven Days, and VPIRG to discuss best practices in government transparency in the United States.


Environmental Engagement and the Economy

On September 27th, the VCWA virtually hosted 11 participants from Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. The delegation met with representatives from SunCommon to discuss the nexus between economic and environmental sustainability.
