	Speaker's Series Global Symposium Great Decisions Travel the World International Visitor's Leadership Program Past Programs		Global Symposium The Vermont Council on World Affairs hosts an annual Global Symposium. The 1st Global Symposium in September 2002 featured a presentation by New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman on the intersection of the forces of globalization and international terrorism. The 2nd Global Symposium in October 2004 featured former U.S. Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich speaking on Vermont and the global economy
