StaffCarol Casey, Director, International Visitor Leadership Program and Interim Executive Director A native Vermonter, Carol spent much of her professional life working in the political and governmental arena in Washington, D.C., including a stint as head of the Political Institutions and Processes Section of the Congressional Research Service, the Library of Congress. After returning to Vermont, Carol became involved with VCWA first as a volunteer and then in 2003 on a full time basis as Director of the International Visitor Leadership Program. A graduate of Smith College, she majored in International Relations and spent her junior year abroad in Geneva, Switzerland. She was a member of an American Council of Young Political Leaders delegation to Syria, Jordan and Israel in 1979. She is an active Board member of several nonprofit organizations and lives in Shelburne.
Kate Mattina, Administrative Assistant Kate first became interested in world affairs while developing an English language program for migrant farmworkers in northwest Washington. Since then, she has been actively involved with the refugee community in Chittenden County through her work with the Burlington School District and King Street Youth Center. She is currently studying Economics and Political Science at UVM, and plans to pursue a law degree.
