ASSE International is a non-profit organization that has been working to build a world of understanding through cross-cultural and educational programs since 1976.We are currently looking for 15-20 Burlington area families to open their homes and hearts for our bright, young high school students from Germany who will be participating in a 4-week Culture and Current Events orientation program in Vermont this summer beginning July 24th.The Culture and Current Events program is a four week session that is designed to prepare each of the students for success when they enter their high school year program in a North American school. This program provides the students with an opportunity to engage in thought provoking discussions about American culture and current events. Students will be engaged in classroom instruction along with weekly enrichment activities and excursions. Host family members are invited to participate in a welcome and farewell party as well as activities and excursions as they choose.
ASSE students will arrive fully insured and with their own spending money, we only ask that the host family provide a bed and meals and a supportive and welcoming home environment, encouraging the student to participate in daily activities as a member of the family. Without caring host families, our mission to create a world of greater understanding would not be possible. I hope you will consider giving a student the chance to become a member of your family; to see America through a new perspective; to build a bond that can last a lifetime. We have several students awaiting news of the family that will welcome them into their home. I am happy to help answer any questions you have about the program and show you some of the students' profiles. For more information please contact:
